Neuroses
One day on the calm ocean, an undersea volcano erupted. The magma cooled down and condensed, forming a little island. The story after that is pretty simple and scientific; lichen came and soilized the rock; plants came and produced oxygen; animals came and built a complete ecosystem. All of these came from the other two islands near the new island.
The island is in a tropic area with the most colorful coral reef surrounding the coastline, the purest spring sourced from the volcano, cleanest air, greenest tree, and most importantly, the bluest sky. If paradise exists, in my opinion, it would be in this sweet little island. And I don’t know exactly when, and exactly how, but somehow three men just landed on that island. That three little pests had always been annoying, and for a moment I felt like they have always been on that island since the formation of the island.
If you are curious to read a three-men Robinson Crusoe type of story, unfortunately, their stories are quite different. So the three men’s names are Idan, Egan, and Subban. (To be honest, I did not know their name for a long while until an old man told me a long time after) These three men, like any other men in the world, established a hierarchical power system. Idan, the naughtiest kid who always messed things up, was at the bottom of the hierarchy. Egan, an unstable man who sometimes did stupid things, was assigned to clean up the mess Idan did. Subban was the king of this small territory who loved rule and order.
Idan was the shittest kid I’ve ever seen. He was like a monster. First, he ate up all the fruits on the island. Then he killed all the goats and rabbits on the island and made a feast barbecue, but he couldn’t finish eating them before the food spoiled. Nobody can explain how much I hate about this kid. He didn’t care about the consequences when it came to physical pleasure. He is a total prick.
Now the foods had run out, Egan and Subban had to work out some kind of check to restrict Idan’s behavior and figure out a new food source. It was not hard for the food part as the elderly formed land always provide some floating coconuts and flying birds over to the small island, so they focused on securing them. Subban’s charismatic personality persuaded Egan to follow him and supervise Idan. Subban developed a rationing system that everyone got a limited amount of food every day. Everything seemed to go back to normal.
Checks and Balances does not always work as well as it sounds like, not even in the United States, not to mention this small little island. It all started when the little Ida stole all the coconuts and tried to squeeze the coconut water into a container that made it taste like Vita Coco Original. He used all fifty coconuts that were collected over the past few weeks and only successfully made one cup of juice. He drank it all immediately as expected. When Egan found out a man sleeping on the coconut shells and having sweet dreams, he almost passed out. They haven’t had any birds flying over for a month now, and coconuts are the only food source that they have, and now the coconut juice was profusely flowing onto the ground. He realized that he could no longer cover the mess, and he sadly sat on the ground, tears profusely came out from his eyes.
Finally, Subban came. He figured out what happened in no time; the coconuts were stolen by those two bastards.
He swore that he would find them and kill them.
Suddenly the ferocious winds attacked and dark clouds arrived. On the horizon, there came an iceberg.
